Xiaomi, Foxconn to Build Two More Manufacturing Facilities in India
August 16, 2016

Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi plans to join hands with Taiwan-based contract manufacturer Foxconn to set up two more manufacturing facilities in India, reported ET Tech on August 13. According to Xiaomi India, the plants are owned and operated by Foxconn for Xiaomi's production, adding that the facilities won't be a joint venture because Foxconn and Xiaomi already have financial arrangements. The locations of the new facilities are not finalized yet. In August 2015, Xiaomi and Foxconn built two plants in the southern state Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, Foxconn is planning to work with Indian partners on online services, mobile Internet, e-commerce and renewable energy, and plans to set up 10-12 manufacturing facilities in India by 2020.
